Final Poem Space
My final project portrays the feeling of isolation. When I read the poem it gave me a couple of emotions that i took out of it. The stongest was the feeling of lonliness. In my space the reader cannot be seen from the front or back. To enter the space you have to go down some stairs to find that from the front the space is closed of but when you sit on the bench you can look up through the slots inbetween the elements. The poem alone had three different parts that i took out of and i wanted to hit on all three. The first was isolation and self reflection, the second was a view on whats now and in the present, and the third is a look into the future. I tried to get all three of these qualities into my space. The closed of view from the front and back plus the excavated ground hits on the first part. The open views on the side and the fact that its not completely closed off links to the second part. The view up through the slots gives the reader the idea of looking into the future; the poem metaphorically talks about seeing storm clouds approaching.
